High School Research at the Gomes Lab
Every summer we welcome 3-4 high school students to the laboratory. Some of these students are part of the Young Scholars Program (YSP) at UC Davis while others are volunteers from around the region.
High school students get the same research experiences as undergraduate students and have to write a research manuscript type report at the end of the program. All high school students have to give a presentation at the end of the program.
High school students are given independent as well as group projects and learn important life skills that can only be gained by experiential learning.
High school students often remark that they experienced more than they could have ever hoped for and leave the lab with new lifelong friends.
